Meet The Family

With a large family like mine, it can be easy to get us mixed up or forget about certain members entirely. On this page I would like to give you a brief introduction to each member.

Dad - Darryl Fitzwater

I may talk about dad from time to time, but you most likely will not see him in many family pictures. He taught us a lot about self sufficiency and homesteading, and we did learn many good traits from him like a good work ethic, organization, and an eye for detail. Six years ago, he and my mom got divorced, and other than an occasional visit, he pretty much stopped being a part of our lives entirely. He lives in Arizona with his best friend (Uncle Bill), where he gets to live out his dream of freedom from any responsibility to God or family.

Mom - RaeLynn Carlton (Fitzwater)

My mom is the glue of our family. She is the one that holds us all together and makes us get along. She has a heart of gold, though that makes her gullible and easily manipulated and taken advantage of sometimes. Her love for her family is inspiring to us all. She also has a wealth of information when it comes to self sufficiency and homesteading. She works as a caregiver for the elderly, but it is her vision to be able to pay off a piece of land where she can live self sustainably and not have to work anymore.

Me - Sierra Fitzwater

I am the oldest of 6 kids. I am a lot like my dad, I have many of his traits. Unfortunately, because of that, mom has, in a way, replaced him with me. She leans on me and relies on me to be her backbone. I am attempting to learn how to step away from her and that role without leaving her desolate like dad did. At 28 (almost 29), I want a chance to live my own life and be my own person, which is nearly impossible with her relying on me the way she does. I am trying to find a balance in my life, where I can be there for her, and be myself at the same time.

Dakota, Cheyenne, Genesis & Dahlia

Dakota, his wife Cheyenne and their twins Genesis and Dahlia. Dakota and Cheyenne moved in almost 3 years ago from Newport Oregon where they had been living for several years. Shortly after, the twins were born. Dakota and I used to have a very close relationship, but over the years and through some difference of opinions, we have grown distant. He is creative, kind, funny, and talented.

ShawNee, Dusty and Gideon Braden

ShawNee and I haven't always be close, in fact, there was a time that we absolutely disposed each other. But in the past 8 years, we have become very close and share many of the same hopes and dreams. She met her husband Dusty at school and they got married on October 20th 2018. On March 2nd, 2020 baby Gideon was born.

Kiowa Fitzwater

Kiowa works at a local shed company in town where he is learning to make sheds/tiny homes. He enjoys good music and good weed.

Sequoia Fitzwater

Sequoia is our ranch girl, she loves working with horses, and has learned a lot from a local rancher/horse trainer. She also enjoys working with other animals, gardening and spending time out in nature.

Ukiyah Fitzwater

Ukiyah is the baby of the family. Mom has allowed him to become a spoiled, narcisistic brat that has no responsibility and throws tantrums when he is asked to do anything other than play his video games.

Well, now you have it. That is our crazy (slightly dysfunctional) family in a nutshell.
